International Museum Day
The worldwide community of museums will celebrate International Museum Day on 18 May, 2014. This year, the theme of the International Museum Day will be Museum collections make connections. This theme is a reminder that museums are living institutions that help creating bonds between visitors, generations and cultures around the world.
During the International Museum Day the Dostoevsky Museum ENTRANCE IS FREE (there is a charge for tour guide services)
Main objects for visiting: F.M. Dostoevsky’s memorial flat and the literary exhibition dedicated to his life and art.
Two exhibitions are open:
1. “Dostoevsky. Version 4” – exhibition of the best photos by the audience of the 4th city festival Dostoevsky Day. The exhibition features a screening of "Dostoevsky. Version-4 " based on materials of the city festival Dostoevsky Day 2013
2. Exhibition by the artist Andrey Khineiko "From Greece to Northern Venice"
Visitors will be able to acquire unique books published by the museum (mainly in Russian), as well as elegant souvenirs, and to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of a 19th century household.
